Siveco signs with Korean EPC for another Algerian power plant project

2014-06-25
Hanwha Engineering & Construction selected Siveco China to deliver a turnkey CMMS for the 450MW simple cycle gas turbine power plant under construction in Biskra province, Algeria. The power plant, a 450MUSD investment by Algeria state-owned power company SPE, will start operation in early 2015. Siveco China will provide the project turnkey, with data preparation services and CMMS configuration performed at the firm's engineering offices in China, regular coordination meetings with the Korean EPC and its suppliers in Korea, final system setup and end-user training onsite in Algeria, with Siveco's local partner. The project has already started.

To meet the increasing demand for electricity, the Algerian government has launched a massive investment program, with an additional 8,400MW of capacity to be connected to the grid between 2015 and 2017. Siveco China is already working with another Korean EPC Hyundai Engineering & Construction for the 3x400MW Ain Arnat combined cycle gas turbine power plant in Algeria. Siveco's CMMS Coswin has been chosen as the standard CMMS for all future power projects in Algeria. Since many EPC contracts have been awarded to construction companies from Asia, Siveco China has dedicated a team to assist the selected EPCs and their subcontractors with system design, data collection, system configuration all the way to FAT, in Asia, followed by onsite delivery working together with a local partner in Algeria.

Siveco China has gained an unparalleled experience of greenfield projects in the booming Chinese market and has started to export its know-how overseas, with projects in various countries such as Algeria, Brunei, Indonesia, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Sudan, etc. Siveco works either for the EPC (or its appointed subcontractor) or directly for the plant owner.
