Siveco China & ABB to deliver integrated DCS-CMMS for combined cycle power plant in Malaysia

2009-11-16

ABB Bailey Beijing Engineering Co., Ltd. (CNBBC) is supporting China National Electric Equipment Corporation (CNEEC) to provide 800xA distributed control systems (DCS) for the Ranhill Powertron II combined cycle power plant (CCPP) project at Sabah, Malaysia. As part of this contract, Siveco China will deliver its maintenance management system COSWIN. COSWIN provides a standard interface with the 800xA platform, based on a seamless HMI integration allowing operators to immediately all access relevant maintenance data from the click of a button. Siveco boasts a long history supporting power plants all over the world, with a specific maintenance consulting expertise in gas-turbine combined cycle power plants. Siveco's cooperation with ABB dates back over a decade: the first major joint project was signed in 1997 for the 1,356MW Jors Lasfar coal-fired power plant in Morocco.

Bruno Lhopiteau, General Manager of Siveco China, said "I am particularly proud to be working again with ABB Bailey Beijing Engineering and CNEEC on this prestigious project. For several years already, we have been working towards supporting Chinese engineering and construction companies on export projects. Owing to our very strong presence in Africa and the Middle-East, we are uniquely positioned to assist Chinese firms for the CMMS part of infrastructure projects."

Siveco China currently supports export projects in Malaysia, Singapore and Sudan. It has also cooperated with Chinese EPCs on tenders in Bangladesh, Egypt, Iran, Thailand and the Philippines. All the projects involve DCS or SCADA integration.
