Sharing session on obtaining ROI from maintenance improvement (Ningbo, July 21)

This sharing session on "obtaining ROI from maintenance improvement" will be held in Ningbo Free Trade Zone on July 21, targeting senior management (GM, plant managers etc.) in the manufacturing industry. The event will showcase case studies of two major Siveco customers in electronics and chemicals, sharing experience of obtaining quick returns from maintenance both from an operational and financial perspective. Other industries will be covered as well, depending on the registered audience. This seminar is jointly organized by well-known HR service company Zhejiang Foreign Service Corporation (FESCO), Ningbo branch, and Siveco China, the country's largest maintenance consultancy.

 

14:00–14:45 Leveraging technological tools to deliver sustainable maintenance improvement in China (keynote address)
 
Our keynote speaker, Bruno Lhopiteau, is the General Manager of Siveco China, the country's largest maintenance consultancy. Bruno will provide original insights from his 13-year experience running maintenance improvement projects in China.

-  Maintenance situation in the typical plant in China
-  Improvement solutions and results – what works, what doesn't
-  The use of technological tools as enablers
 
14:45–15:15 Quick ROI from maintenance system implementation: the experience with the world's largest phone maker in Beijing (case study)
 
This presentation will detail every step of a maintenance improvement project at a major consumer electronics factory (over 250 staff in the maintenance and testing department), with a specific look at:
 
-  How to estimate ROI and justify investment decisions
-  How to successfully implement a maintenance system (CMMS or "EAM")
-  Specificities of maintenance in the electronics industry
-  Further improvement and continuing ROI measurement
 
15:15–15:30 Coffee break (demonstration systems will be available during the break)
 
15:30–16:00 Mobile solutions, a catalyst for improvement at leading chemical group Sichuan Lutianhua (case study)
 
In-depth technical presentation of a project conducted for Sichuan Lutianhua, a producer of fertilizers. This project won a silver award at the 2010 Motorola Enterprise Mobility Solutions Industrial Applications Grand Prix. The speech will touch on the following:
 
-  The importance of maintenance organization to ensure availability, reliability and safety in the chemical industry
-  Inspections and measurements as a key maintenance strategy
-  How to better utilize the know-how accumulated by technicians for improvement purposes
-  How can mobile inspections solutions add value to under-utilized maintenance systems ("EAM")

 

 

16:00–16:30 System demonstration workshop (demonstration)
 
The team will finally demonstrate live systems covering the following main aspects:
 
-  The maintenance system (CMMS/EAM)
-  Mobile solutions for technicians
-  Integration with process and building automation (PLC/DCS/SCADA)
-  Integration with corporate ERP systems (SAP)
-  Q&A
 
Each session will provide ample time for questions & answers and interaction in the room.

 

Bio of keynote speaker

 

Bruno Lhopiteau has been active in the Chinese maintenance market since 1997. He took part in some of the country's largest projects, implementing maintenance systems and providing consulting services, most notably for the Three Gorges Hydropower plant. In 2004, he founded Siveco China, providing tools and services to manage maintenance "with Chinese characteristics". Bruno sits on the board of several hitech and service companies operating in the Chinese maintenance and infrastructure market.
