On February 25, a group of four students of Shanghai University's Sino-European School of Technology (UTSEUS) won First Prize at the 2021 College Student Innovation Competition for their outstanding implementation of a Digital Twin of the UTSEUS building. Using the latest version of the bluebee® X suite developed by Siveco China, the project forms an excellent showcase of how practical Digital Twins for Operation & Maintenance, integrating IoT and mobility, can be deployed quickly to existing facilities without pre-existing BIM models.
The project was kicked off in December 2021. Bruno Lhopiteau, Managing Director of Siveco China, was invited to give a keynote speech on industrial trends at the opening ceremony. 13 well-known Chinese and multinational companies proposed subjects for the competition. 168 UTSEUS students were organized in 35 teams, each selecting a subject. Enterprise tutors provided guidance during the project. At Siveco China, students were tutored by two members of the Product and Ecosystem teams. The participating students completed their entries before Spring Festival, which were reviewed by a jury of academics and companies executives. The award ceremony took place on February 25. Siveco China congratulates the students' team for their excellent work, their original approach and innovative spirit, and thanks the UTSEUS faculty members for their support!
Siveco China has maintained an academic partnership with the UTSEUS since 2010, when Siveco China's Managing Director Bruno Lhopiteau starting lecturing on Industrial Risk Management at the school. Joint students projects included the "Maintenance in China" survey, various BIM-related studies, maintenance audits for the 2010 World Expo pavilions and for leading enterprises such as Faurecia, Sogefi, Suez, etc. In 2018, Siveco China gave the school full access to its Industry 4.0 risk management platform bluebee® cloud (now in its version X), offering a great playground for students and opening many future project opportunities.
