Siveco in alliance with Temafield to bring ArcelorMittal’s TPM methodology to China
Siveco, China's largest maintenance consultancy, has reached an agreement with Belgian firm Temafield to promote the TPM methodology developed by steel giant ArcelorMittal.
TPM is aimed at improving the productivity of industrial equipment. The methodology identifies production losses in order to eliminate their root causes. It aims at better coordinating production and maintenance teams, leading to improved equipment performance, better technical know-how and team satisfaction for a work well done.
ArcelorMittal, the world largest steel maker and an industry leader recognized for its technical and management innovations, has developed its own implementation of TPM, also known as "Topomanagement" within the group, which has led to tremendous productivity improvement in many of its plants worldwide. Belgian consultancy Temafield holds the exclusive license to distribute this methodology outside of ArcelorMittal.
Siveco has a long history working with ArcelorMittal, as Siveco's CMMS software COSWIN has been successfully implementing in many of the company's sites in Europe. Temafield and Siveco already have customers in common, including ArcelorMittal, automotive supplier Magotteaux, food manufacturer Kraft Foods, construction material supplier Saint Gobain, papermaker SCA, etc.
"We are proud to be allying with such strong partners" said Bruno Lhopiteau, General Manager of Siveco China. "Their proven management methodology nicely complements our existing portfolio of maintenance services. In this time of financial crisis, many industrial plants are looking at improving their internal process: for many of them TPM can be tool to drive this improvement."
Serge Bay, Managing Director of Temafiel, added "After having implemented TPM in over 40 industrial groups and enjoying the trust of our partner ArcelorMittal, we are looking forward to entering China, using Siveco's knowledge of the local market and their strong local support capability."
