Three long-time users of Siveco's computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) "Coswin" have recently started to implement the bluebee
® mobile solution, thus considerably extending the reach of their CMMS.
SCIP Sino French Water Development, the operator of Shanghai Chemical Industry Park's water infrastructure, is running bluebee
® on Android mobile phones.
SITA Waste Services, which operates a hazardous waste incineration processing plant in the same chemical park, is implementing bluebee
® on explosion-proof ATEX-certified handheld devices running Windows Mobile.
Saint Gobain Pipelines, a manufacturer of ductile iron pipes in Xuzhou (Jiangsu province), is deploying bluebee
® on industrial-grade Android smartphones.
bluebee® is Siveco's suite of mobile solutions for the "worker of tomorrow", designed for technicians in the plant or in the field. Running on smartphone or tablet, the solution works with any back-office maintenance management system (CMMS/EAM). Engineers conduct site surveys (safety, energy, maintenance) and get immediate assistance from the technical knowledge base. Non-compliance and risk areas are instantaneously reported to the central system. Scanning of asset tags (barcode or RFID) and GPS positioning ensures that inspections are actually performed. The bluebee® cloud platform manages the mobile devices and ensures data synchronization with the CMMS.
Studies show that up to 70% of technicians working time is spent on administrative tasks, looking for information, tools, manuals, drawings, parts, other people… It is almost impossible for technical teams tied-up handling emergencies, operating in constant firefighting mode, as is often the case in China, to launch a preventive maintenance program. On the other hand, few companies will afford the necessary additional resources. This simple fact is the number one obstacle in maintenance improvement projects. Time freed by using bluebee® in the work order process can be immediately allocated to improvement actions and preventive maintenance.
